LAHORE: The Punjab government has opened the registrations for the “Punjab E-Taxi Scheme 2025,” under which more than 1,100 electric vehicles will be provided on easy and interest-free loans.
In the pilot phase, the plan, led by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, has been officially launched in Lahore to reshape urban transportation.
As per details, the government will provide taxis to the fleet and individual owners.
The fleet owner will be given 1,000 E-Taxis with a minimum of 10 cabs per fleet owner. They will be registered with Transport Network Companies (TNCs) for e-taxi operations.
In addition to that, 100 e-taxis have been fixed for individuals registered with Transport Network Companies (TNCs). Out of these, 70 taxis are allocated for males and 30 for females.
According to the details, the government of Punjab has given a subsidy of 3.5 billion rupees for the E-Taxi Pilot Project. This eco-friendly initiative will empower drivers, reduce air pollution, and build the future of smart mobility.
As the government has opened the application portal, citizens can apply till October 5, 2025.
Applicants can apply for the CM Punjab E-Taxi Scheme 2025 from the online portal (e-taxi.punjab.gov.pk).
