Renowned religious scholar Maulana Muhammad Idrees martyred in assassination attack

ISLAMABAD: A renowned religious figure of Charsadda, former member of the provincial assembly and Sheikh Hadith Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Idrees Tarangzai was martyred in an assassination attack. Maulana Muhammad Idrees was a former MPA of JUI.

According to sources, the shooting incident on Maulana Muhammad Idrees took place in the Atmanazai area of ​​Charsadda district. Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.

Maulana Muhammad Idrees was on his way to Darul Uloom Atmanzai to give a lecture on Hadith when the incident took place. His body was shifted to DHQ Hospital, where thousands of his devotees reached as soon as the information was received.

Sheikh Hadith Maulana Muhammad Idrees was counted among the renowned and eminent scholars of Pakistan. According to police sources, the shooting was carried out by unknown persons. After the incident, he was immediately shifted to the hospital but he died on the way. After the shooting incident, the accused fled the scene.
