ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has been called tomorrow to sight the moon of Dhul-Hijjah.
A meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has been called for tomorrow, Sunday, May 17, corresponding to 29th Dhul-Qa’dah. The date of Eid-ul-Adha will also be decided after the sighting of the moon.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Religious Affairs said that the meeting has been called at the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Karachi. Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad, will preside over the meeting.
Meetings of the Zonal and District Ruet-e-Hilal Committees will also be held at their respective headquarters that evening. The final announcement of the sighting of the moon will be made by Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad.
On the other hand, Suparco has predicted that the moon of Dhul-Hijjah is likely to be sighted on May 17, thus Eid-ul-Adha is strongly expected to be on May 27.
