ISLAMABAD: Pakistan gears up to send thousands for World Cup 2034 construction. A strategy aimed at sending approximately 300,000 to 400,000 skilled workers for infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia related to the FIFA World Cup 2034 is on the cards, aiming to open up new opportunities abroad for the country’s laborers, according to planning documents.

The plan by Pakistan’s labor workforce strategy document includes deploying individuals to build projects related to the 2034 Saudi Arabian World Cup as part of its ambitious Vision 2030 agenda, starting in 2026 until the event is hosted, said officials with knowledge of the planning process.

Pakistani nationals are most likely to benefit in a variety of fields, including construction, aviation,  tourism, infrastructure, travel, and, well, anything relating to the accommodation services industry.

As part of its broad program to improve worker capabilities and enhance their globally competitive performance in numerous jobs outside of the nation, Pakistan is putting focus on its skills and talent, in addition to the development of recruitment procedures.
For the duration of Jan-Mar of fiscal year FY26, it’s estimated that nearly 215,719 Pakistanis had enrolled themselves in soft skills development programs for enhanced overall flexibility in the workplace, performance, and their eligibility for jobs internationally.
More than 762,499 workers have recently been officially enlisted by Pakistan’s immigration bureaucracy this past year for jobs internationally, while some 15 million Pakistanis have departed since 1972.
In excess of ninety-six percent of Pakistan’s migrant workforce heads out to Gulf-area nations ( GCC countries and even most significantly to countries such as the United Arab Republic & Saudi Arabia), an official figures declaration disclosed.
Within the year 2025, Saudi Arabia remained the favorite destination for emigrants from Pakistan since 530,256 had journeyed to the kingdom for employment reasons, nearly 70 percent of the workforce in that given year, it said.
Already, Saudi Arabia’s “Vision 2030” plan has driven increased need for international labor for construction, infrastructure development, hospitality, and facilities.
This coming FIFA Cup’s setting promises additional economic boom and even building action that requires large amounts of labour. Pakistan also looks to modernize emigration with digitisation and even smarter recruitment, hoping to boost job openings and also remit revenue coming home.
