KARACHI: The Port Qasim harbor receives constant oil shipments because a new fuel ship reached the port today, which secures oil distribution for local markets.
The MT Petazoli ship arrived at Port Qasim, which carries 38,965 metric tons of motor oil from Saudi Arabia’s Jizan Port to the FOTCO terminal. Two coal shipments and a palm oil vessel wait at the outer anchorage to dock.
The port processed 10 ships during the previous 24 hours. The port currently operates 2 container vessels, 5 bulk cargo ships, and 3 petroleum product carriers.
Port Qasim handles total cargo shipments of 168,850 metric tons, which includes 136,936 metric tons of imports and 31,914 metric tons of exports. The port received 8 vessels during the last 24 hours, while 2 vessels left and 3 more vessels will depart soon.
The port authorities made all the necessary arrangements to ensure cargo operations will proceed without delays. Maritime experts claim that the high volume of crude oil and petroleum product imports will create supply chain stability, which ensures that domestic fuel supplies will remain available.
Analysts report that timely oil tanker arrivals will help refineries maintain their production levels while petroleum products flow smoothly through the market.
