ISLAMABAD: In a recent development, Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have agreed on Hajj 2025, with Saudi Arabia set to receive about 179,210 pilgrims from Pakistan.
An agreement was signed between Pakistan’s Ministry for Religious Affairs and the Saudi Ministry for Hajj, which would work in the interest of facilitating the pilgrims with an enhanced experience.
According to this arrangement, a special area was set apart for Pakistani pilgrims in Mina; about 50% discounted rates will be charged. Pilgrims will also be given the autonomy to choose the length of stay in Madinah which would range from between four to eight days.
The introduction of a shorter Hajj programme, which usually lasts from 20 to 25 days, and full cooperation was assured by the Saudi Hajj Ministry to provide all possible services in favor of the Pakistani pilgrims. The Ministry has also allowed the private Hajj organizing companies to commence Hajj 2025 bookings from January 10 to 31, 2025.
It uploaded several Hajj packages on its official website, where the basic packages are booked at between Rs.1.1 million to Rs.2.15 million. Premium packages costing Rs.3 million and above will be approved by the ‘Hajj Policy Formulation Committee.’
In terms of the Service Provider Agreement (SPA), private Hajj operators will book accommodation for less than Rs.3 million, providing full details for approval. This involves an introduction of a new, shorter Hajj programme together with the option of selecting the duration of stay in Madinah.
The Pakistani government has been doing a lot to facilitate the Hajj pilgrimage, including the launch of an app, ‘Pak Hajj 2025,’ which offers information and services for pilgrims.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has also issued health requirements and guidelines for Hajj pilgrims in the 2025 season.
Whatever arrangements may be, with the proper stamping of agreement, Pakistani pilgrims are all set for a Hajj experience where all comforts would be provided throughout.
