PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Faisal Javed was deboarded from a flight to Saudi Arabia despite the Peshawar High Court (PHC)’s permission to go for Umrah.
The PHC had earlier directed the concerned authorities to temporarily remove Javed’s name from the National Identification List (PNIL) and Exit Control List (ECL).
Javed was supposed to leave for Umrah at 3 pm but was stopped at the airport. Despite showing the court order, the airport authorities refused to let him board the flight. Javed alleged that the government failed to remove his name from the list despite the court order.
Javed’s lawyer, Advocate Alam Khan Adanzai, argued in the court that his client’s name was included in the PNIL without any justification, which prevented him from going for Umrah.
Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, Asad Qaiser, Sheikh Rashid, Faisal Javed were acquitted in a case related to violation of Section 144.
The case was registered on August 20, 2022 at Aabpara Police Station, in which the former prime minister and his party members were accused of violating Section 144 imposed by the authorities.
Judicial Magistrate Yasir Mahmood pronounced the verdict after reviewing the acquittal application and acquitted Saifullah Niazi, Sadaqat Abbasi and Ali Nawaz.
