Sindh govt announces 2000 ASI jobs in police department

KARACHI: The government of Sindh has announced 2,000 jobs of Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASI) in the investigation wing of the department.

The aim is to improve the security situation across the province and to reduce the crime rate.

This decision was taken in a high-level meeting under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary (CS) of Sindh, Asif Hyder Shah.

The meeting was attended by the Inspector General of Police Sindh, the Additional Chief Secretary for Home, the Secretary Services, and other senior officials.

“This is a key step toward improving the investigative capabilities of the police force,” the CS Sindh said while adding that this will boost the public trust of public on the department.

The CS also directed to remove any hurdles in the recruitment process of the ASIs into the Sindh police.

He further stated that an efficient investigation system can lead to swift justice for citizens and a significant crime reduction.

“Improved investigations will ensure timely justice and stronger action against criminal elements,” the IG Sindh said.

IG Sindh added that the recruitment will lead to more efficient investigation of the cases.
