LAHORE: Lahore police have booked TikToker Kashif Zameer and a police officer for mocking the police uniform during a private wedding ceremony in the provincial capital.

In a video that went viral on social media, a police official can be seen holding a tray filled with bundles of cash for the TikToker, and the latter was throwing money from the tray.

As per details, two FIRs have been registered against a TikToker and a police officer under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) and other charges.

The FIR stated that the act publicly damaged the reputation of the police department.

Police said that the involved police constable has been detained, while raids are underway to apprehend Kashif Zameer.

Police added that Zameer tried to cover up the act by editing the viral clip with artificial intelligence to change the colour of the officer’s uniform and mislead the public.

The police have emphasized that they will take firm action against anyone who disrespects state institutions for personal publicity or social media content.

The footage sparked widespread criticism, as it was viewed as an act that undermined the dignity and integrity of the police department.
