KARACHI: The Sindh government has announced a new concession for vehicle owners, saying that the period for NADRA biometric verification for vehicle transfer has been extended, which will now be till June 30, 2026.
According to the Sindh Excise Department, vehicle buyers can transfer the vehicle in their name without NADRA biometric verification until June 30, 2026. No additional fee will be charged in this regard. The Excise Department has issued a notification in this regard, which is also available on their official Facebook page.
The Sindh Excise Department has issued a new procedure for the transfer of ownership of a vehicle or motorcycle, which aims to avoid fraud and legal complications. Under the new system, both the buyer and the seller will be required to get biometric verification done from NADRA or the e-Sahulat Center, only after which the transfer process will be initiated.
To transfer the ownership of the vehicle, the identity of the buyer and the seller will be verified from NADRA or the e-Sahulat Center. A written agreement will be prepared on stamp paper, which will be signed by both parties. Visit the excise office to obtain a token and submit the application form.
The required documents will be submitted along with the completed form. The transfer fee and token tax will be paid, which can be submitted online or in the office. A receipt will be issued after verification of all documents. After verification, a new smart registration card will be issued in the name of the buyer within 5 to 15 working days.
The documents required for the vehicle transfer include the original registration book or smart card, copy of the national identity card, signed application, sales agreement, clearance certificate, passport size photograph.
