LAHORE: A meeting of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) parliamentary board was held under the chairmanship of Nawaz Sharif, in which Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and other leaders participated.
According to sources, more than 206 candidates were interviewed from 45 constituencies of Azad Jammu and Kashmir in the meeting. Party President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif interviewed the candidates along with senior leaders.
Party President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will decide on the final candidates in consultation with the board members. The successful candidates in the interviews will be issued party tickets within 30 days.
The members of the parliamentary board include Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Pervez Rashid, Rana Sanaullah, Amir Muqam, Maryam Aurangzeb, Anusha Rehman, Muhammad Safdar and Barjees Tahir.
In addition, Shah Ghulam Qadir, Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider, Mushtaq Minhas, Chaudhry Muhammad Saeed and Chaudhry Tariq Farooq are also among the board members. Najeeb Naqi Khan, Iftikhar Gilani and Chaudhry Abdul Rehman also attended the meeting.
