Weekly increase in inflation of 0.07 percent recorded

ISLAMABAD: The country recorded a weekly increase in inflation of 0.07 percent, and the overall annual inflation rate was 3.53 percent.

The Federal Bureau of Statistics released a weekly report on inflation, according to which the prices of 16 essential commodities increased in the recent week, while 13 items became cheaper, and the prices of 22 remained stable.

In a week, the prices of tomatoes increased by 57.03 percent, garlic by 2.61 percent and sugar by 2.23 percent.

In addition, bananas became expensive by 0.72 percent and tea by 0.59 percent, while the prices of diesel, beef, cooking oil, LPG, and firewood also increased.

In addition, onions became cheaper by 12.38 percent and chicken by 8.07 percent in a week, while potatoes, flour, eggs, lentils, moon,g and gram lentils also became cheaper.
