Netanyahu’s arrest not discussed in meeting with Mamdani: Trump

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump met with the newly elected Mayor of New York, Zohran Mamdani, at the White House, during which common issues were discussed.

The US President, while talking to the media after the meeting, said that it was a good and effective meeting with Zohran Mamdani.

I hope that Mamdani will run things in New York in a better way, and we will support him, we will provide all possible help, so that it can meet the expectations of the people.

Trump said that the better Mamdani runs the affairs of New York, the happier I will be.

President Trump, while answering a question regarding Netanyahu’s arrest, said that whether Mamdani would arrest Netanyahu or not was not discussed.

He said that Mamdani’s decisions may come as a surprise to conservatives. I hope that Mamdani will surprise some conservatives.

Trump, while talking about peace and conflicts, said that peace was established in the Middle East today due to his efforts.

Trump said that he made 8 peace agreements in the world, and these agreements included ending the war between Pakistan and India.

Trump said that he has no problem with his supporters supporting Zohran because we both have the same goal, and that is to end wars.

On this occasion, Mamdani, who was with Trump, criticized the US funding policy for Israel without naming names.

He said that his supporters and Trump’s supporters agree that funding countries that violate human rights with US taxpayers’ money should be stopped.

The journalist asked Zahran Mamdani, “Do you think President Trump is a fascist?” Before Mamdani could explain the journalist’s question, President Trump said that he did not mind Mamdani calling him a fascist.

The US President, addressing Mamdani, said that you can call him a fascist, because it is easier to say than to explain, and I have no objection to that.

Responding to a journalist’s question, Mamdani said that he also discussed the genocide in Gaza during his meeting with President Trump.
