YDA to block major roads across Lahore today

LAHORE: The Young Doctors Association (YDA) has announced a protest against the decision of Punjab Government to outsource public hospitals, resulting in the closure of Majors road across the city on Friday, according to media reports.

The YDA, with the support of the Grand Health Alliance (GHA), will stage Sit-ins on various roads, starting from 11:00 am, according to YDA Punjab President Dr. Shaib Niazi

The sit-in will result in the disruption of traffic on Jail Road, Ferozepur Road the ,Road leading to Mayo Hospital, Access roads to Shaikh Zayed Hospital the , Jinnah Hospital route, and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital route.

“We are blocking the roads for any kind of traffic, causing widespread traffic jams to pressurize the Government,” said the president of YDA.

He also criticized the Government for its decision, stating that the roadblocks are part of our plan B and any force used will lead us to close all the medical facilities across the province.
