Bollywood’s much-discussed film Dostana 2 has reportedly encountered another major hurdle, as director Advait Chandan has stepped away from the project. The latest development adds to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the film, which has faced multiple casting and production changes since its announcement.

According to Indian media reports, the film had already experienced delays after actor Kartik Aaryan parted ways with the project, leading to a temporary pause in production. Later, reports also suggested that actress Janhvi Kapoor was no longer attached to the film.

The newest reports indicate that Advait Chandan, who had reportedly spent several months working on the film’s development, has now exited due to personal reasons and creative differences. Sources claim there was no major dispute behind the decision, but differing creative visions ultimately led to his departure from the project.

Despite the setback, reports suggest that Sini Shetty has been finalized for a key role in the film. The former Miss India World winner is expected to make her Bollywood debut through this high-profile production.

The storyline is said to revolve around two siblings who find themselves in love with the same person, creating a mix of romantic confusion, comedy, and emotional drama. Actor Vikrant Massey had previously confirmed his involvement in the project, marking his first collaboration with filmmaker Karan Johar’s production house.

Meanwhile, speculation continues regarding the final cast, with some reports claiming that actor Lakshya may no longer be part of the film. However, the production team has yet to officially reveal the complete cast lineup.

With repeated delays, cast reshuffles, and now a directorial exit, Dostana 2 remains one of Bollywood’s most uncertain upcoming projects. Fans are still waiting for an official update regarding its final cast and release plans.
