ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested Atif Muhammad Khan, husband of actress and model Nadia Hussain, on charges of embezzling over Rs500 million from a private bank, here on Saturday.

According to FIA officials, a case (FIR No. 9/25) has been registered at the Corporate Crime Circle Karachi on the complaint of the bank’s group head. The investigation revealed a large-scale financial embezzlement, estimated to have embezzled over Rs1 billion.

The case alleges that Atif Khan, with the facilitation of the bank’s CFO and other officials, committed criminal misconduct, violated banking regulations and misused his authority. Reports suggest that he manipulated the company’s accounts, engaged in fraudulent transactions, and altered financial ledgers to conceal mismanagement of funds.

Atif Muhammad Khan was previously the CEO of the bank’s securities division. Nadia Hussain and Atif Khan have been married since 2003 and have four children.
