Asia Cup 2025: India defeats Bangladesh to reach final

DUBAI: India defeated Bangladesh by 41 runs in the Super 4 stage of the Asia Cup T20 tournament and qualified for the final.

Chasing India’s target of 169 runs, Bangladesh was bowled out for 127 runs in the last over.

India and Bangladesh faced each other in the crucial Super 4 stage match in Dubai. Where Bangladesh won the toss and invited India to bat.

4 changes were made in the Bangladesh team today. Bangladesh captain Liton Das was not included in the playing eleven due to injury. Ali took over as captain in his place.

India’s innings

India scored 168 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Abhishek Sharma once again played an aggressive innings for India and scored 75 runs in just 37 balls.

Shubman Gill 29, Shivam Dubey 2, captain Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma 5, 5 and Pandya 38 were out.

Rashad Hossain dismissed 2 players for Bangladesh.

Bangladesh’s innings

Chasing India’s target of 169 runs, the Bangladeshi batsmen could not play openly and the entire team could only score 127 runs.

Saif Hasan stood out for Bangladesh by scoring 69 runs while Parvez Hossain scored 21 runs. Apart from this, no Bangladeshi batsman could enter double figures.

Kuldeep Yadav took 3 wickets for India, Bumrah and Chakraborty took 2 wickets each.

It should be noted that with this win, India reached the final of the Asia Cup and Sri Lanka were out of the race for the final.

However, India is scheduled to play its last match of the Super 4 stage against Sri Lanka on Friday.

After India reached the final, Thursday’s match between Pakistan and Bangladesh has become a virtual semi-final, with the winning team playing India in the final.
