SYDNEY: The Australian team’s pace attack has been hit by injuries before the start of the Ashes as fast bowler Josh Hazlewood has been ruled out of the first Test due to a hamstring strain.

According to a recent press release issued by Cricket Australia, fast bowler Josh Hazlewood will not play the first match.

Michael Neser has been included in the squad for the first Test.

Captain Pat Cummins and Shaun Abbott have also already been ruled out of the initial Test due to injuries.

Injuries to three fast bowlers in the squad have put the Australian team in trouble.

If the Australian team decides to field four fast bowlers, debutant Brendan Doggett will be included along with Mitchell Starc, Scott Boland and Michael Neser.

The First Test of the Ashes will start on November 21.
