Babar Azam slides further in new ICC T20I ranking

DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released a new T20I ranking on Wednesday, with Pakistani batter Babar Azam further slipping down.

Indian opener Abhishek Sharma has gained the top spot for the first time, with Aussie batter Travis Head in second position.

Azam slips further by one rank, standing in the 14th position in the newly released ranking.

New Zealand bowler Jacob Duffy retains the first position, while Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya ranks first in the all-round category.

Pakistan’s only batsman in the top 20, Saud Shakeel, is at 12th position, while Pakistan’s Nouman Ali is at 5th, and Sajid Khan is at 20th position for bowlers.

England’s Joe Root remains at the top of the ICC Test rankings for batsmen, and India’s Jasprit Bumrah remains at the top of the rankings for bowlers.

India’s Ravindra Jadeja remains at the top of the rankings for Test all-rounders.
