Bangladesh cricket team lands in Pakistan for Test series

LAHORE: The Bangladesh cricket team, led by Najamul Hossain Shanto landed at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport for a two-match Test series against Pakistan on Tuesday.

Strict security measures were made upon the Bangladesh team’s arrival at the Lahore airport and police and other law enforcement agencies escorted them to their hotel.

According to the schedule, the visiting team will rest today and train for three days starting August 14 at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium before traveling to Islamabad.

The first Test match of the series and fixture of the ICC World Test Championship will take place on August 21 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, with the second Test scheduled to start on August 30 in Karachi.

Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the sale of tickets for the upcoming two-match Test matches. The tickets will be available for purchase online starting 13 August (today) at 17:00 PST through PCB.tcs.com.pk.

Bangladesh squad

The Bangladesh squad, led by Najmul Hossain Shanto, includes Mahmud Hasan Joy, Zakir Hasan, Shadman Islam, Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan, Litton Das, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taijul Islam, Nayeem Hasan, Naeem Hasan, Shariful Islam, Hasan Mahmud, Taskin Ahmed, and Syed Khaled Ahmed.

Notably, all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will later join the team from Canada.

Shan Masood (captain), Saud Shakeel (vice-captain), Aamir Jamal (subject to Fitness), Abdullah Shafique, Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Kamran Ghulam, Khurram Shahzad, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Huraira, Mohammad Rizwan (wicket-keeper), Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, Sarfaraz Ahmed (wicket-keeper) and Shaheen Shah Afridi.
