AMMAN: In another major achievement in sports, young Pakistani boxer Bano Butt defeats Indian opponent Richa Sharma in Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2025 t win gold medal in 48 kg category.
The 9th Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship was held in Jordan from May 23 to 25. Athletes from various Asian countries participated in which Pakistan got a historic victory.
After beating Thailand’s Sugun Nutchaya in the semifinal, she held her nerve to overcome the experienced Indian opponent in the final.
The Pakistani team won one gold and several bronze medals in the event. Kainat Arif and Isra Waseem won bronze medals in the team categories, while M. Ali Rashid and M. Yousaf Ali earned another bronze in the men’s event. With one gold and three bronze medals, Pakistan finished the event with real pride.
