MUMBAI: India’s star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has set a unique and undesirable record in the history of T20 cricket.

According to Indian media, Jasprit Bumrah, who plays for the Mumbai Indians, had a very disappointing IPL 2026 season.

Jasprit Bumrah became the first bowler to give away more than 100 runs for each wicket in the tournament. Bumrah gave away 294 runs at an economy rate of 8.37 in 13 matches for the Mumbai Indians.

Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah could only take 4 wickets in 13 matches of IPL. Jasprit Bumrah could not take more than one wicket in any match of the season.

Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling average in IPL 2026 was 102.50, and his strike rate was 73.50.

Bumrah’s record was based on a minimum eligibility criterion of 40 overs, with opposing batsmen adopting a defensive strategy instead of taking risks against Bumrah.
