MUMBAI: Australia’s young star Cameron Green has created history by becoming the most expensive overseas player in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
During the IPL 2026 players’ auction, a fierce bidding war took place between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders for the Australian all-rounder.
Kolkata Knight Riders eventually secured Green for a massive INR 25.20 crore.
With this deal, Cameron Green has joined the Kolkata Knight Riders squad and set a new IPL record for overseas players.
As per details, this record was held by Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc, who was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders in 2024 for INR 24.75 crore.
