ISLAMABAD: Cricket South Africa has announced the central contract players for the 2026-27 season, with 18 male and 15 female players awarded contracts for this season.

According to Cricinfo, Otneil Baartman, Corbin Bosh, Matthew Bretzke, Dewald Brewis and Karabo Meso have been given central contracts for the first time this season, while off-spinner Simon Harmer has been given a hybrid contract among male players.

The South African board has also released a list of 20 players based on Players of National Interest who can be selected for international cricket in the future.

However, the contract of middle-order batsman David Miller, who had a hybrid contract last year, has been terminated.

The board’s move is aimed at ensuring that players are available for bilateral series while also getting opportunities for specific leagues, such as David Miller being unavailable for Australia’s white-ball tour of South Africa last year due to The Hundred League.
