LAHORE: Electricity supply to Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has been cut due to non-payment of electricity bill of Rs 6.9 million.
Reports said that Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) took action against PHF after it failed to pay dues despite repeated notices.
The Punjab Hockey Association office also owes an electricity bill of Rs 500,000 and is also likely to be cut off by LESCO.
The staff of the offices have also informed the PHF officials about the power outage.
The PHF has been facing financial crisis for a long time as it has been neglected by the government despite the fact that it is the national sport of the South Asian country.
PHC officials say that efforts are being made to arrange funds so that power supply can be restored.
In the recently concluded Asian Hockey Champions Trophy, Pakistan defeated South Korea to finish third in the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy and won the bronze medal.
