ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s aggressive batsman Fakhar Zaman has been ruled out of the ODI series against Bangladesh.

Fakhar Zaman, who played an aggressive innings against Sri Lanka in the ICC T20 World Cup, suffered a hamstring injury, due to which he was ruled out of the Bangladesh tour.

Fakhar Zaman will undergo rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to regain fitness.

It should be noted that this month, the Pakistan team will tour Bangladesh, which includes 3 ODI matches.

The Pakistan ODI team will reach Dhaka, Bangladesh on March 9 and will participate in a practice session on March 10, after which the first ODI match will be played on March 11, the second on March 13 and the third ODI match on March 15, and all these matches will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium.

It should be remembered that this will be Pakistan’s second tour of Bangladesh after July 2025, the T20 International series played in July 2025 was won by Bangladesh.

Bangladesh had toured Pakistan in May/June 2025 and under the leadership of Salman Ali Agha, Pakistan won the T20 International series 3-0.

It should be noted that it is also being expressed that the tension in the region may affect the Pakistan cricket team’s tour of Bangladesh.

According to sources, if travel risks and concerns do not increase due to the current situation, the tour is expected to go ahead as scheduled.

According to sources, there is a possibility of young players being included in the ODI squad to form a strong team, while under-performers in the T20 format can be dropped. Consideration will be given to giving young players a chance in place of Saim Ayub, Babar Azam and Muhammad Nawaz.
