NEW DELHI: The arrested central organizer of the three-day ‘Goat Tour of India’ of Argentine world-famous footballer Lionel Messi, Sataru Dutta, has revealed that Messi was unhappy with the repeated touching and hugging of people during the event.
According to foreign media reports, an investigation into the riots and serious security lapses during the event held in Kolkata is underway.
According to the Special Investigation Team (SIT), according to central organizer Sataru Dutta, Messi’s visit to India cost a total of about Rs 100 crore.
Regarding financial matters, Sataru Dutta said that Lionel Messi was paid Rs 89 crore for his visit to India, while Rs 11 crore was given as tax to the Indian government, thus the total cost of the visit came to Rs 100 crore.
According to sources, 30 percent of this amount was obtained from sponsorship and 30 percent from ticket sales.
According to SIT sources, the arrested organizer of the event held at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on December 13, Satadru Dutta, said that Messi had strong objections to being held on the back or hugged, and foreign security personnel had informed him in advance. However, despite repeated announcements, the crowd became uncontrollable, due to which Messi left the stadium before the scheduled time.
It should be noted that according to media reports, West Bengal Sports Minister Arup Biswas was seen near Messi. He is accused of holding the footballer by the waist while taking pictures. He used his influence to give access to Messi to relatives and close people.
Arup Biswas has resigned from the Sports Ministry post until the investigation is completed after growing criticism.
