India announces squad for T20 World Cup 2026

MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced 15 member squad for the upcoming T20 Cricket World Cup on Saturday.

Indian vice-captain Shubman Gill has been dropped from the squad, and Ishan Kishan has been included to support the upper order.

There was no room for Jitesh Sharma either, as the selectors picked Rinku Singh and Ishan Kishan in the 15-member squad.

Axar Patel has been named the vice-captain. The same squad will play the five-match T20I series against New Zealand.

India is the defending champion, having beaten South Africa in the final of the 2024 edition.
