DUBAI: India defeated Pakistan by 6 wickets in the second match of the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup T20.
In the match played at the Dubai International Stadium, India won the toss against Pakistan and decided to field first.
Pakistan gave India a target of 172 runs to win, which India achieved in the 19th over for the loss of 4 wickets.
Playing first, Pakistan scored 171 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
Pakistan’s first out was Fakhar Zaman, who was dismissed for 15 runs for a total score of 21, his wicket was taken by Hardik Pandya. A debate broke out on social media after giving Fakhar out and users called the decision controversial.
After Fakhar’s dismissal, Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub batted responsibly and took the team’s score to 93 runs. On this occasion, Saim Ayub was caught by Dubey after scoring 21 runs.
The third player to be dismissed from the national team was Hussain Talat, who scored 10 runs on a total score of 110 before being caught by Kuldeep Yadav. After him, Sahibzada Farhan was also caught by Dubey after scoring 58 runs on a total score of 115. Sahibzada Farhan played an innings of 58 runs off 45 balls with the help of 3 sixes and 5 fours.
Mohammad Nawaz was dismissed for 21 runs on a total score of 149. Captain Salman Agha scored 17 and Faheem Ashraf scored 20 runs off 8 balls, not out.
India easily achieved the target for the loss of 4 wickets. The first Indian player to be dismissed was Shubman Gill, who scored 47 runs and was bowled by Faheem Ashraf. Indian captain Surya Kumar returned to the pavilion without scoring any runs, he was dismissed by Haris Rauf.
At a total score of 123, Abhishek Sharma fell victim to Abrar, who scored a brilliant 74 runs off 39 balls with the help of 5 sixes. Sanju Samson was bowled by Haris for 13 runs while Tilak Verma was 30 and Hardik Pandya was not out on 7 runs.
For Pakistan, Haris Rauf took 2 wickets, Faheem Ashraf and Abrar Ahmed took one wicket each.
2 changes were made in the Pakistani squad today, Faheem Ashraf and Hussain Talat were included in the playing eleven of the Pakistani team today.
The national team consisted of Saim Ayub, Sahibzada Farhan, Fakhar Zaman, Hussain Talat, Faheem Ashraf, Salman Ali Agha, Muhammad Nawaz, Muhammad Haris (wicketkeeper), Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf and Abrar Ahmed.
There have also been two changes in the Indian team, with Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy returning.
