LAHORE: The mother of former international cricketers Mansoor Rana and Maqsood Rana has passed away, family sources confirmed on Friday.
The deceased was the wife of the late Shakoor Rana, one of Pakistan’s most renowned international cricket umpires, who officiated in numerous international matches and remained a prominent figure in the country’s cricketing history.
The news of her passing has saddened members of the cricket fraternity, with friends, relatives, and well-wishers expressing their condolences to the bereaved family.
According to family sources, the funeral prayers of the deceased will be offered after Asr prayers at the G-Block Mosque in Valencia Town, Lahore.
Mansoor Rana represented Pakistan in Test cricket and later served in various coaching and cricket administration roles, while Maqsood Rana also represented the national team at the international level.
The Rana family has long been associated with Pakistan cricket through both playing and officiating roles, making significant contributions to the sport over several decades.
