Nawaz stars as Pakistan crushes Afghanistan in T20 final

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan defeated Afghanistan by 75 runs in the final of the tri-nation T20 series thanks to the devastating bowling of Mohammad Nawaz.

In the final of the tri-nation T20 series played in Sharjah, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat against Afghanistan.

Batting first, Pakistan scored 141 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Fakhar Zaman scored 27, Mohammad Nawaz scored 25 and Salman Agha scored 24 runs for Pakistan.

Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan took 3 wickets, Noor Ahmed and Fazalul Haq Farooqi took 2 wickets each.

In response to the target of 142 runs, the Afghan team was bowled out for 66 runs in 15.5 overs thanks to the devastating bowling of Mohammad Nawaz.

Mohammad Nawaz not only completed a hat-trick against Afghanistan in the final match but also showed brilliant bowling, dismissing 5 players for 19 runs in 4 overs.

Apart from Mohammad Nawaz, Sufyan Muqeem and Mohammad Abrar took 2 wickets each and Shaheen Afridi took one wicket.
