Pak vs Ban: Shaheen dropped as 12-member Pakistan squad announced for second Test

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s red-ball head coach Jason Gillespie today announced a 12-member squad for the second Test match against Bangladesh, scheduled to start in Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on August 30 (Friday).

During a pre-match press conference in Islamabad, the head coach announced the inclusion of Abrar Ahmed and Mir Hamza, while star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi was dropped from the Playing XI against Bangladesh.

Gillespie added that he recently became a father and we want him to spend some time with his family. Shaheen Afridi last week welcomed his first child, whom his family named Aliyaar.

The final playing XI of Green Shirts for the second Test commencing tomorrow at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will be announced at the time of the toss, which will take place at 09;30 am.

Following the first Test, Bangladesh is leading the two-match series 1-0, after defeating the Shan Masood-led side by 10 wickets in Rawalpindi on Sunday.

Visitors upset the hosts with the finest bowling performance on the fifth day to secure their first-ever Test win against Pakistan. Green Shirts bowled out at 146 in the second innings after which Bangladeshi openers Zakir Hasan (15*) and Shadman Islam (9*) eased past the 30-run target in a mere 6.3 overs.
