Pak vs SL: Green Shirts thrashes Sri Lanka to win T20I series opener

DAMBULLA: Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by 6 wickets in the first match of the 3-match T20 series to take a 0-1 lead in the series.

Pakistan achieved Sri Lanka’s target of 129 runs in the 17th over for the loss of 4 wickets.

Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha won the toss and invited the hosts, Sri Lanka, to bat first.

Thanks to Pakistan’s excellent bowling, the Sri Lankan team was bowled out for 128 runs in 19.2 overs.

Janith Liyanage scored 40 runs, while Hasaranga and Asalanka scored 18 runs each.

Salman Mirza and Abrar Ahmed took 3 wickets each, while Shadab Khan and Mohammad Wasim took 2 wickets each.

Pakistan easily achieved Sri Lanka’s target of 129 runs for the loss of 4 wickets.

Sahibzada Farhan was outstanding for Pakistan with 51 runs off 36 balls. Saim Ayub scored 24 runs.

, Salman Ali Agha was dismissed for 16, and Fakhar Zaman for 5 runs. Shadab Khan remained unbeaten on 18, and Usman Khan scored 7 runs.
