LAHORE: Pakistan is likely to react strongly after India’s stubbornness and the International Cricket Council (ICC) unfairly excluded Bangladesh from the World T20 Cup.

An important decision regarding the participation or non-participation of the Pakistan cricket team in the ICC T20 World Cup is expected soon.

According to sources, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will seek permission from the Pakistani government to participate in the T20 World Cup.

According to media, an important meeting is expected between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi tomorrow, in which the option of not playing the match against India, including participating in the World Cup, will also be considered.

Sources further said that Pakistan is also seriously considering withdrawing from the World Cup after the inappropriate behavior towards the Bangladeshi team.

On the other hand, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi met the players of the national cricket team and informed them of the PCB’s stance regarding the T20 World Cup. The players appreciated the principled stand of the PCB Chairman and expressed their full support.

Mohsin Naqvi also extended his best wishes to the national team for the Pak-Australia T20 series on this occasion. He said that the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s stand on not playing in India is based on principles and the Pakistan Cricket Board completely rejects the ICC’s double standards.
