CHRISTCHURCH: Representing their teams, Mohammad Haris of Pakistan and Ish Sodhi of New Zealand graced the lovely Port Hills venue. Starting March 16 at Hagley Oval in Christchurch, New Zealand, the T20 International (T20I) series will run.

Pakistan, which is trying to come back from a poor exit from the 2025 Champions Trophy, finds the series rather important. New Zealand made it to the final, barely losing to India, while Pakistan did not get a single win in the group phase.

Five T20Is will be followed by three ODIs in the series, therefore both teams will have plenty of chances to display their talents and make required changes before upcoming events.

With Mohammad Rizwan, who along with Babar Azam has been dropped from the T20I roster, Salman Ali Aga has replaced the captaincy from Pakistan’s team has changed substantially.

Vice-captain Shadab Khan has taken on a more leading position and spoke to the press ahead of the team’s departure for New Zealand. Though some followers have questioned Shadab’s presence on account of his recent performance, he has been observed practicing strenuously.

New Zealand on the other side revealed two sides for the T20I series captained by Michael Bracewell. Daryl Mitchell, Jacob Duffy, and Michael Bracewell himself will be among the first three matches to showcase a blend of experienced players and young talents.

Particularly given some key players are absent for IPL, which starts shortly after the T20I series, Bracewell’s leadership will be crucial.
