Pakistan vs South Africa: Day one ends with Green shirts at 259/5

RAWALPINDI: The first day of the second and final Test between Pakistan and South Africa has come to an end, as Pakistan has scored 259 runs for 5 wickets.

In the match being played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Pakistan captain Shan Masood won the toss and decided to bat first.

Abdullah Shafiq and Imam-ul-Haq opened the innings for Pakistan.

Imam-ul-Haq was bowled by Harmer for 17 runs, while Abdullah Shafiq played an innings of 57 runs. Babar Azam fell to Keshav Maharaj for 16 runs, while Shan Masood was out for 87 and Mohammad Rizwan for 19 runs.

Saud Shakeel is not out with 42, and Agha Salman is not out with 10 runs.

By the end of the first day, Pakistan had scored 259 runs for 5 wickets. Keshav Maharaj and Harmer took 2 wickets each for South Africa, while Rabada dismissed one player.

Earlier, after winning the toss, national team captain Shan Masood said that one change has been made in the team for today’s match, Asif Afridi has been included in the team while Hasan Ali has been rested.

Asif Afridi is making his Test debut for Pakistan at the age of 39 years and 299 days.

South Africa captain Aiden Markram said that if we had won the toss, we would have batted. Two changes have been made in the team for the Pindi Test: Keshav Maharaj and Marco Jensen have been included in the team.

It should be noted that Pakistan has a one-nil lead in the two-Test series. Pakistan defeated South Africa by 93 runs in the Lahore Test.
