Pakistani cricket stars to shine in BBL 2025

SYDENY: Several star Pakistani cricketers, including Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi, have made it to the Big Bash League (BBL) for the 2025 edition, according to media reports.

As per the details, the Big Bash League (BBL) franchise Brisbane Heat has selected fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi, while  Melbourne Renegades has selected Mohammad Rizwan in the Platinum category.

Sydney Sixers franchise, before the Players Draft, has signed Babar Azam, while Melbourne Stars has selected Haris Rauf in the Platinum category.

Similarly, the Sydney Thunder has made leg-spinner Shadab Khan part of the squad in the Gold category.

The Melbourne Renegades have selected young cricketer Hassan Khan, and the Adelaide Strikers have selected fast bowler Hassan Ali in the Silver category.

A total of 8 franchises have signed 7 Pakistani players in the BBL league.

74 Pakistani players, including aggressive openers Saim Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan, had registered, but only 7 players could gain the trust of the franchises.
