Pakistan’s rising star Ashab Irfan lifts Johns Creek Open Squash title

WASHINGTON: Pakistani squash player Ashab Irfan won the Johns Creek Open Squash Tournament in the United States.

The Pakistani player won $12,000 in prize money by defeating the Malaysian player Nathan Kewe.

The Pakistani player defeated his Malaysian opponent 1-3 in 40 minutes.

Ashraf Irfan came back after losing the first game and won 3 consecutive games to win. In the final match, the Pakistani player’s score was 8-11, 11-2, 11-2, and 11-6.

Earlier, In an outstanding performance, Pakistan has bagged a total of seven medals in the 32nd Asian Junior Individual Squash Championships 2025 in South Korea.

The medal tally includes two gold medals, two silver medals, and one bronze medal in the main event, and two gold medals in the plate event

M Sohail Adnan (U-13) and Nauman Khan (U-15) won gold medals, Ahmed Rayyan Khalil (U-15) and Mahnoor Ali (Girls U-13) won silver medals, and Abdullah Nawaz (U-19) won a bronze medal. In the plate event, Yahya Khan (U-17) and M Mustafa (U-13) won gold medals.
