ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has fined fast bowler Naseem Shah Rs 20 million for a controversial tweet.

According to the PCB, Naseem Shah has been fined for violating the PCB’s central contract.

The PCB had issued a show-cause notice on March 27, 2026, identifying the violations and seeking an explanation from Naseem Shah.

After receiving and reviewing Naseem Shah’s response, a three-member disciplinary committee heard the case on March 30. After reviewing Naseem Shah’s position, the committee ruled that even taking into account the unconditional apology, Naseem Shah has been found guilty of violating several clauses of the central contract, and he has been fined Rs 20 million.

According to the PCB, Naseem Shah has already fired his social media advisor, while the PCB will also blacklist this advisor so that he cannot work with any player who comes under the jurisdiction of the PCB in the future.

The PCB has reiterated its commitment to maintaining professional standards, adherence to contracts and the reputation of the game.
