LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken a proactive step towards addressing player injuries by appointing a sports medicine consultant.
This move aims to enhance the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of fitness issues for athletes at both international and domestic levels.
The ideal candidate will possess an MBBS degree, at least 10 years of relevant experience, and a solid understanding of sports culture and decision-making skills.
The sports medicine consultant will work closely with physiotherapists and trainers to ensure a unified approach to player fitness.
In addition, the key objectives of this development include swift diagnosis and treatment, rehabilitation and fitness, and a collaborative approach to ensure comprehensive care.
To qualify, applicants must have an MBBS degree, over 10 years of relevant experience, a strong understanding of sports culture, and effective decision-making skills. Applications are open until October 10.
This appointment is crucial, as the PCB has been without a Director of Medical since Dr. Sohail Saleem’s resignation. The new consultant will fill this gap, providing a robust support system for Pakistan’s cricketers.
