LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that it has shortlisted six cities for the two new Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises, set to be inducted in the tournament’s 2026 edition

In a press release issued on Friday, the PCB confirmed that the shortlisted cities include Hyderabad, Sialkot, Muzaffarabad, Faisalabad, Gilgit, and Rawalpindi. The interested parties will have to choose a franchise name from these cities.

“The valuation reports for two new PSL Franchise Teams have also been received by the PCB, and the tender process for their sale will be formally initiated shortly,” the PCB said.

The PCB further announced the completion of the independent valuation process for the existing Pakistan Super League franchises and other commercial assets.

“Following the conclusion of this exercise, renewal offer letters reflecting the new franchise fees for the next 10 years have been formally shared with all compliant PSL Franchises, requesting them to revert with their decision within the stipulated timeline,” it added.

IT further said that the PCB has also arranged “collective and individual meetings between franchise representatives and the independent valuer” to ensure full transparency and facilitate a clear understanding of the valuations.

“These sessions will allow the franchises to review the valuation methodology and discuss any queries,” the PSL said.

“The PCB remains committed to maintaining a fair, transparent, and mutually beneficial partnership with all PSL stakeholders, as the league continues to play a pivotal role in the growth and global recognition of Pakistan cricket.”

Earlier in October, during a press conference at the National Bank Stadium in Pakistan, PSL CEO Salman Naseer stated that an auction will be held for two new PSL franchises, and bidding parties will be given a pool of city names from which they can select.
