ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Mohsin Naqvi, has announced that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has granted permission for spectators to attend the final of the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

In a statement shared on social media, Mohsin Naqvi said he had requested the Prime Minister to allow fans into the stadium. He added that the Prime Minister was already supportive of the idea but emphasized the need for precautionary measures due to the ongoing austerity campaign.

According to Naqvi, special approval was granted following requests from franchise owners, enabling cricket fans to witness the PSL 11 final live. He also expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for facilitating the decision.

The development comes amid a nationwide austerity drive launched by the government in response to concerns over a potential oil crisis linked to tensions in the Middle East, including the Iran-US situation. The campaign aims to reduce fuel consumption and manage economic pressures while balancing public engagement in major events.
