PSL XI team of the tournament announced, Babar Azam named captain

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Super League (PSL) XI Team of the Tournament and Emerging Team of the Year have been announced, Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam has been appointed as the captain of the PSL Team of the Year. Babar Azam also won the title of the event’s top scorer with 588 runs while he also scored two centuries in PSL 11.

For the first time, along with the Team of the Tournament, the Emerging Team of the Tournament was also announced. Three players each from Peshawar Zalmi and Hyderabad Kingsmen have been included in the Team of the Tournament, while two players each from Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United are included in the team.

Peshawar Zalmi’s Kaushal Mendis was named the wicketkeeper of the Team of the Year with 550 runs, Peshawar Zalmi’s Sufyan Muqeem was named the best player and is also included in the Team of the Year, Hyderabad Kingsmen’s Haneen Shah was included in the Emerging Team of the Year along with the Team of the Year, he is the only player to be included in both teams.

Hyderabad Kingsmen’s Usman Khan is also included in the Team of the Year with 389 runs, Hyderabad Kingsmen’s Hassan Khan scored 139 runs and took 6 wickets.

Fakhar Zaman joined the Team of the Year after scoring 401 runs, Shaheen Afridi of Lahore Qalandars made it to the team after taking 16 wickets, Shan Masood of Multan Sultans joined the Team of the Year after scoring 367 runs, Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan and Richard Gleeson are also part of the team, Hassan Nawaz of Quetta Gladiators was included in the Team of the Year as the 12th player, and the Emerging Team includes Islamabad United’s Sameer Minhas, Farhan Yousuf, Ali Raza and Obaid Shah.
