LAHORE: Lahore Qalandars have strengthened their squad ahead of Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11 by signing Bangladeshi fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman and retaining several key players, including captain Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Mustafizur, who previously represented the Qalandars in 2016 and 2018, has rejoined the franchise after both sides reached an agreement reportedly worth Rs64.4 million.

Known for his variations and death-over skills, the left-arm pacer is expected to add depth and experience to the bowling attack.

Qalandars owner Samin Rana welcomed the return of the Bangladeshi star, saying Mustafizur is not just a player but an important part of the franchise’s family, and that the team is delighted to have him back in the dressing room.

The franchise has also retained Shaheen Shah Afridi for Rs70 million, underlining his central role in the team’s plans.

Among other retentions, Abdullah Shafiq has been secured for Rs20.2 million, Sikandar Raza for Rs20.8 million, and Muhammad Naeem for Rs7 million.

Meanwhile, preparations for PSL 11 continue across franchises, with Multan Sultans’ team auction scheduled for February 9 as squads take shape for the upcoming season.
