ISLAMABAD: Pakistan T20 captain Salman Ali Agha has spoken about the changes in the national squad.
Salman Ali Agha says that I do not think there will be any major changes before the World Cup, the team will have the same combination, all the players have been given roles and we will move forward with the same roles, there are 6 matches left before the T20 World Cup in which we will have to play consistently.
The national captain says that we cannot make any major changes in 6 matches, we have played with the same players for the last 6 months and the results have started coming, I want us to win the T20 in 2026 and then the ODI World Cup in 2027.
Salman Ali Agha said that winning both these World Cups is my dream, if they come true, I will be very happy, for now, the Pakistan team will play the T20 World Cup under my captaincy, the senior players have an idea of the Sri Lankan pitches, while the new players will benefit from the Sri Lankan series before the World Cup.
He added that the series against Sri Lanka before the World Cup will be beneficial for us, we will take it seriously, I think the Pakistan team has come on the right track but there is still a need for improvement, the Pakistan team will soon reach where people and we want to see, we have prepared for the T20 World Cup in 6 months, we still have 6 matches left before the T20 World Cup, we will try to improve more in this.
He said that I played 56 international matches in 11 months, for this it is very important to have fitness, there is a lot of Pakistan cricket in the next 3-4 months, I am not going to the leagues to keep myself fresh.
He said that you are the captain of Pakistan and this cannot happen without pressure, I had a problem due to pressure, now I have learned to take captaincy and batting together, I have always seen Babar Azam as a friend, I have never seen him as a big batter.
