Sarfaraz Ahmed retirement from international cricket announced by Champions Trophy winning captain

LAHORE – Sarfaraz Ahmed retirement from international cricket has been officially announced by the former Pakistan captain on Saturday.

Sarfaraz Ahmed represented Pakistan in all three formats of international cricket during his career. He played 54 Test matches, 117 One Day Internationals, and 61 T20 Internationals.

During his international career, Sarfaraz Ahmed scored a total of 6,164 runs. He also served Pakistan cricket for many years as a wicketkeeper and leader of the national side.

The Sarfaraz Ahmed retirement from international cricket marks the end of an important chapter in Pakistan cricket history. He captained Pakistan in 100 international matches during his career.

Sarfaraz Ahmed is widely remembered for leading Pakistan to victory in the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy. Under his leadership, Pakistan defeated India in the final and won the major international title.

Speaking about his career, Sarfaraz Ahmed thanked Allah for giving him the chance to represent Pakistan in all formats of the game.

He said his cricket journey was special. According to him, he started playing cricket in the streets as a child and later moved to hard-ball cricket.

Sarfaraz Ahmed added that playing for Pakistan was a dream that finally came true. His retirement now closes a long international journey in Pakistan cricket.
