NEW DELHI: Indian T-20 cricket team captain Suryakumar Yadav confirms that the Indian team will travel to Sri Lanka to take part in the scheduled match against Pakistan during the ICC World Cup 2026.

The cricketer expressed these views while attending a pre-tournament press conference that took place on Thursday in Mumbai.

The high-profile India-Pakistan match is to be played on the 15th of February in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

However, the current context with regard to the competition seems uncertain in the wake of the announcement by the Pakistani government that its national cricket team would be losing the match against India.

This has caused some concern among the International Cricket Council (ICC), as the fixture would be critical for the tournament.

Suryakumar Yadav stated that the team will not alter anything. “Our preparation, our planning, everything is very clear. We have already finalized our tour plans to Colombo,” he confirmed.

“Our flight has been booked, and we will go to Sri Lanka as per the schedule,” Suryakumar said. Suryakumar further stated that the Indian team would abide by all rules and regulations related to the tournament.
