ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has saved the International Cricket Council (ICC) from a huge financial loss in the T20 World Cup 2026.
According to Indian media reports, Pakistan’s decision to play the match against India saved the ICC 174 million US dollars.
According to Indian media estimates, the loss has been estimated in terms of broadcasters’ gate money and other sponsorships. Immediately after Pakistan agreed to play the match, air tickets to Mumbai and Colombo increased.
The price of tickets has initially increased from 10 thousand to 60 thousand rupees, while the hotel industry in Colombo has also witnessess surge in rates.
Moreover, the highly anticipated Pakistan vs India clash in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 is scheduled for February 15, 2026, in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The match will start at 6:30 PM Pakistani Standard Time (PKT), giving fans across Pakistan a prime-time opportunity to watch the blockbuster encounter.
The fixture will go ahead as planned after Pakistan reversed its earlier decision to boycott the match, following discussions between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the International Cricket Council (ICC), and other stakeholders.
