Former Indian captain Virat Kohli has surged three spots in the ICC Test rankings, securing the sixth position, while Babar Azam has dropped two places amid a slump in his form.
As per the latest ICC Test batsmen rankings, New Zealand’s captain Kane Williamson is at the top with 864 rating points, followed by England’s Joe Root with 859 points, securing the first and second positions, respectively.
After delivering outstanding performances in the three Test matches against Pakistan, Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne hold the third and fourth positions, respectively. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli, with a remarkable comeback, has moved to the fifth position after scoring runs against South Africa, pushing Babar Azam down to the eighth position.

In the Sydney Test’s first innings, Mohammad Rizwan’s brilliant knock of 88 runs earned him a significant leap of ten places, placing him at the 17th position with 668 rating points. Saud Shakeel, showcasing consistent performance, is positioned at 14th with 693 rating points.
On the bowling front, Amir Jamal’s impressive display in the debut series propelled him to 12th place, achieving a career-best ranking. Meanwhile, Shahin Afridi secured the 12th position with 733 rating points.
