West Indies beat Nepal by 9 wickets, remain undefeated in T20 World Cup

ISLAMABAD: West Indies defeated Nepal by 9 wickets in the ICC T20 World Cup.

Nepal had given West Indies a target of 134 runs to win, chasing the target, Brendon King and Shai Hope opened the innings from West Indies.

Brendon King was caught by Yadav after scoring 22 runs, Shai Hope remained not out after scoring 61 and Shimron 46 runs, West Indies achieved the target in 15.2 overs.

This West Indies defeated Nepal by 9 wickets and secured their place for the next stage. West Indies are undefeated in their group so far.

In the match played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, West Indies won the toss and decided to field first.

Playing first, the Nepal team scored 133 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted twenty overs. Dipendra Singh Airi was the standout batsman with 58 runs.

Lokesh Bam scored 13, Asif Sheikh scored 11, Gulshan Ja scored 11, Sompal Kami remained unbeaten on 26 runs.

For the West Indies, Jason Holder took 4 wickets while Aqil Hussain, Matthew Fordy, Shemar Joseph and Roston Chase took one wicket each.
